My deepest condolences to Gillian for the loss of her precious Jackie. May she rest in peace, and may Gillian take comfort in knowing she now has an angel watching over her.
I have so many fond memories of Jackie, as I’ve known her for almost 50 years—Gillian and I have been friends since seventh grade. Jackie’s laugh was infectious, and her beautiful smile always made you feel welcome and she had a great sense of humor.
Jackie had the patience of a saint, especially when it came to the two of us. Poor Jackie had to endure so much from Gillian and I during our teen years. We were always up to no good, keeping our parents on edge. I’ll never forget the time Jackie was going out of town for the weekend, and Gillian and I decided it was the perfect opportunity to throw a beer party for the entire Villa Park High School football team. Her house was trashed, but somehow, she forgave us.
There were definitely times when Gillian and I really tested her patience. In fact, I remember one time when Jackie and my dad, Dick Simpson, had to meet to figure out how to keep us apart and calm the storm we were always causing.
I can just picture Jackie and my dad sitting together in heaven now, reminiscing about how troublesome we were and laughing together.
    Rest in peace, dear Jackie.

I was very fortunate to visit Jaqueline for a few hours on the evening before her trip. I’m still in disbelief and sadness a couple of weeks since that evening. I had brought her favorite, dark chocolate with sea salt, and the expression she had was tremendous joy! She was very excited and happy to make the long journey to France. I will always have this fond memory of her. I admired and respected her physical and mental strength to carry on no matter what came along. I will miss our conversations and laughs forever. May she rest in peace!

Although I didn't have as much time with Aunt Jackie as I would have liked, I will always remember her kindness, her infectious laugh, and the warmth she shared with everyone around her. She had this incredible way of making others feel seen and valued, and her sense of humor was one of a kind. I’m grateful for the moments we did share. Rest in peace, Aunt Jackie. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten

I didn't know my Great Aunt Jackie as much, in my adult life, as I would have liked to; but as a child, she was incredibly funny and caring. Every memory I have of her, is her making the room roar with laughter or her treating me with absolute compassion and kindness. To her taking me to her nephew's highschool football games, little trips to Jack in the Box because she knew how much I loved their monster tacos, to the family reunions, she made sure to make everyone feel absolute comfort in her presence. Reading the moments that everyone has shared makes me realize that she never lost herself and her light never dimmed and that in itself is really beautiful. I look forward to reading the books that Gillian shared, so I can get a glimpse of the kind of person that can bring so much beauty in someone's world, even if it was just for a brief moment. Love you Aunt Jackie and thank you for everything!

As you get older you realize that it is not what you have accumulated in this life that matters but the imprint that you leave on others is what will last a lifetime. My Aunt Jacquie wore many hats, and whatever hat she wore she wore it well. As the philosopher, when she spoke she sounded as if she carried all the wisdom of the world. As the storyteller she kept you enthralled in whatever story she was telling and made you feel as if you were there. And as the jokester she had you laughing until tears were rolling dish your cheeks. Whenever she got together with my dad and Aunt Jola you knew it was always going to be a fun time. Who she was as a person really mattered and her mark in the world will live on. You will be missed and never forgotten. With all my love... Donna

We will definitely miss the eloquent conversations and colorful imagination of Gramma Jackie and my previous mother in law.
I'm happy that I was able to spend the last 6 years visiting her over breakfast on a monthly basis. She loved the huge croissants at Jolanda's cafe and loved reminiscing about past adventures.
She was in so much physical pain in the last few years and now is free. Cheers M.I.L. ;)

Jacqueline and I met in 2021 when we moved to Laguna Woods Village. As I started out on my morning walk one day she came out of her home and I asked her if she wanted to walk with me. We walked and talked each morning for over a year and became good friends. After I moved to Kansas we called each other every couple of months. We talked and laughed for over 2 hours each time and Gillian would ask her Mom what could we
possibly talk about for that amount of time. Most of it was silly talk but we could laugh about it. I will miss out silliness. My thoughts and prayers go out to Gillian and the family

Jacqueline was a wonderful neighbor and friend to my mom, Joy. Her wit kept us in stitches! She could tell a tale better than anyone I know but it was her keen insight into human behavior that had the most impact on me. Feeling blessed for the time we spent together. Prayers & condolences to those who were also blessed by Jacqueline

Thank you Melissa. She would mention you often and remark about what a kind person you were and how dedicated you are to your family. You were a welcome example of how kind people can be and I know for a fact how much she appreciated the friendship of you and your mother.

I just came across my mother's reading list and notations. This is too good not to share. It speaks volumes about her personality:
